For the top sheet—the layer in direct contact with the body—the trend is moving away from standard polypropylene non-wovens. Now, seamless, cotton-like non-wovens made from rayon or specialty viscose are becoming standard in premium segments. Furthermore, technologies like “lotion application” (infusing the top sheet with moisturizers like aloe or chamomile) and “aqua-absorbent patterns” (3D embossing that creates a drier surface) are being integrated.
